About Us
I’ve held leadership roles across multiple companies, even founded and built my own business to over $7 million in annual revenue.
I always got heavily involved in HR and Operations. Get processes and policies right, everyone does their best work. Get them wrong, the whole company locks up.
But as I’ve built my businesses, I always had a terrible time finding strong recommendations on how to handle HR stuff.
Other than high level posts from HBR or outdated content from SHRM, there ain’t much.
I’ve learned a ton of HR stuff the hard way, or from other leaders and entrepreneurs (I still have a ton to learn too). I want to publish everything I’ve learned to help others avoid the same mistakes I’ve made. While continuing to learn more nitty gritty stuff along the way.
That’s why I started HR Advice. To fill this void.
What’s my goal with HR Advice?
I have two goals, a realistic goal and my “superbowl” goal.
For my realistic goal, I’ll be happy if even ONE company makes a single HR policy more humane based on one of my recommendations. If it happens just once, it’ll all be worth it.
HR policies have enormous impacts on our lives. If just one person can enjoy their job a bit more, perform better, and have less stress, all the hours I’ve spent on this project will have been worth it.
What’s my pie-in-the-sky superbowl goal?
If any of my work influences (in however small a way) a Fortune 500 company to update their policy… OR a state enacts new legislation to protect employees, I’ll have won the superbowl. I’ll even do a celebration dance.
So that’s it.
